香港財務會計協會於一九八八年八月正式成立。 由一九九五年開始﹐該會推行本地的考試制度。　財務會計員考試(ATE)由香港財務會計協會舉辦, 旨在提供一套香港社會需要的會計教育及考試制度﹐並讓學生有機會通過考試﹐取得認可財務會計員資格 (AAT)。 學生亦可透過此途徑加入香港會計師公會或英國特許公認會計師公會, 獲取更高的專業會計師資格。

The Accounting Technician Examinations is organised for "Hong Kong Institiure of Accredited Accounting Technicians" accreditation. To Take this Examination, one has to first registered as a student of the Association. The Accounting Technician Examinations have two levels and eight papers in total

The Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) and the Hong Kong Institiute of Accredited Accounting Technicians (HKIAAT) recognize that many sub-degree holders would aspire to attain a professional accountant qualifications. The two bodies are therefore pleased to announce a qualification route through new Professional Bridging Examinations (PBE) for sub-degree holders who have been accredited Hong Kong Accounting Technicians.

香港財務會計協會成立於一九八八年。由二零零二年起﹐該會與香港會計師公會達成協定，並舉辦了專業晉進階考試，務求令該會之非學位持有會員可透過此途徑加入香港會計師公會，獲取更高的專業會計師資格。

ENTRY REQUIREMENT 報考資格

• Must be registered with the HKIAAT須為HKIAAT註冊學生
• Students must have passed or be exempt from all the Accounting Technician Examinations必須在財務會計員考試中獲八科及格或豁免考試

「認可會計文員」是晉身會計行業的基本資格。 設立「認可會計文員」資格的目的是為給予擁有足夠會計知識和技術, 並懂得操作會計軟件及系統的人認可的資格。 這是有志於晉身會計行業人仕的最基本要求,考試的設計有助於初級會計人員在香港發展事業及提升技術資歷。
